This has been a busy week for me. I am back at work and had to squeeze in three oreintation night shifts in a row. Both kids also got their flu shots on Monday. Add in our regular weekly schedule and lets just say I am glad its FRIDAY. Jordan is back to work today though so I am doing this holiday weekend solo with the kids. I need some happy to focus on!
My work attire. I am an LPN at our local hospital so I get to wear scrubs to work. In the past I have mourned not being able to wear all those cute business casual clothes I see in stores. Now that I am older, a mom, and wiser I am so happy that I get to basically work in pajamas. Scrubs are comfy and simple to put on. They are the perfect work uniform.
Note the time in this picture. On the Sunday mornings that Jordan is off we decided we are going to get up at 6am and make a big breakfast for the kids. Sunday mornings previous were rushed and left everyone irritable which is not a nice way to get ready and head to church. Miss Charlie was so excited to come out of her room in the morning and see us both up which really makes it worth it. The bonus is we all get to spend time together and have lots of time to get ready before our 10am church service. If you don’t do this I highly suggest trying it!
This book, the sequel to “Me Before You” , is amazing. I just finished “After You” by Jojo Moyes and I thought it was just as great as the first book. It took me a while to get into it but that was more because of life getting in the way; however, Jordan may have eaten cereal for supper this week before he went to work because I was reading. This happened with her last book too. I just get to a point where I can’t put it down. If you havn’t read either, go get it now! It is the perfect Thanksgiving turkey coma read.
These flats. I fell in love with them last year at Old Navy, so when they went on super sale I picked them up; however I didn’t try them on, and when I did my feet were too fat for them. They pinched and hurt to walk in. Fast forward to 40lb loss on weight watchers and finding them in with my fall things. Let me tell you I am sure Cinderella felt the same way when she tried on the glass slipper. They fit perfect! Turns out I lost weight in my feet. My smile is very big when I wear these now. Every girl needs a Cinderella moment. If you are interested in joining weight watchers or have any questions about it contact me.
I am very happy to say that 3 out of 4 (only because Mr Simon is too young) of us are taking steps to grow in our relationship with Christ this year. Miss Charlie is a cubby in the AWANA group. She is memorizing verses, learning how to use her Bible, and asking lots of questions. She only goes once a week but we talk about the importance of the verse she learned each day. Jordan joined a life group which is basically a bible study held in someone’s home once a week. I have been going to Sharing Hearts every Thursday morning which is a Womens Bible Study that also has childcare. I have learned so much all ready and being in a room filled mostly with ladies in the same season of life that I am in was just what I needed.
That is all the Happy until next week. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving Weekend. This year I am most Thankful for my Family. I am also thankful for all of you that come to read my little blog. Thank you for supporting me on this journey called life.
