My busy and full week is over now. Let the busy and fun weekend start! I hope you all had a great week. I know I did. I am really looking forward to the Santa Claus parade this weekend and a fun outing with a friend. So many things have made me happy lately and I can’t wait to share so here we go:
Pie! We live really close to an Irving with a restaurant and they make the best coconut cream pie. Really, you can’t go wrong with any of their pies, but this one is my favourite. I would order pie over cake any day of the week. We pick up a pie about twice a year. If we did any more than that, I feel my love for pie would turn into addiction, so I literally pretend I don’t live very close to delicious pie. It is a great treat though, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
My favourite Christmas album has been on repeat all week. Miss Charlie would not enter the kitchen the other day because “Mommy’s music is on”. Apparently it offends her, haha. An hour later she was dancing to it. Just when I thought my love of Kenny&Dolly would also buy me some alone time in my Kitchen. I just informed Jordan that I would like bluetooth speakers set up around are entire house so I could hear my Christmas music everywhere and his eyes lit up at the thought of so many cords and wires (he is obsessed). I bought apple music (free 3 month trial) so I could listen to all the Christmas music I want to for free over the holidays. Christmas music makes me happy!
As I mentioned on Monday’s post Miss Charlie did a Christmas craft at Michaels on Saturday for $2. She had so much fun crafting and I got to shop, which made us both happy and was a win win. I highly recommend this but wear older clothes on your kiddos because they don’t always use aprons there.
I found these socks at Michaels last week and they sang out to me. I mean Christmas+Donuts the best collaboration ever! I heart everything Christmas related. I have many pairs of Christmas socks but none as great as these til now. They are knee length and $8.99(I used a 50% off coupon, get the app). You will definitely be seeing the socks again on here but on me with a doughnut in hand. Take my word for it: socks can make you happy.
This children’s book truly makes me happy. It is called “Stick Man” written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. It’s about a stick that gets separated from his stick family and is reunited with help from Santa. It’s cute, funny, and a true joy to read. Buy it here and I promise you won’t be sorry. If you do not have children, it is a great gift for nieces and nephews. I bought it for Charlie when she was two and I would say it would be great for children up to age 7 or 8. The author and illustrator do other great books too but this is by far my favourite. We have a little collection of books by them. It is Miss Charlie’s favourite too!
That is all for this week but I have a whole lot of happy happening this weekend after I get through my night shift tonight. I will fill you in on all the fun on Monday!
