That’s a Wrap

We’ve been busy buying gifts and now it is time to wrap them all! I often leave this task to Jordan a day or two before Christmas. I buy the presents he wraps. My man is an excellent wrapper! This year though he is working all the days leading up to Christmas and I just wanted it done! Especially the gifts for the kids. So I have been spending my evenings with wrapping paper. Read More

Chill Out

November is the busiest month of the year around here. My goal each year to have ALL the Christmas shopping done by December 1st so in November I am doing the scramble that a lot of you save until December. Trust me it is just as painful but I just like to get it done and over with so I can enjoy the holidays. It has been a busy week of decorating for me. I have been decorating my own home, our church, and also prepping for an event next week. I have also been working each evening for a few hours. So today I decided I needed to “chill out!” Read More

Holiday Prep

What a wonderful holiday filled weekend! We even got to see the Big Elf himself! November is always the busiest month of the year in our house. Busy in a good way though. We do all of our Christmas prep, shopping and decor in November. I try to be completely finished everything for December first that way I can sit back, relax, and enjoy holidays while also saying yes to all the festivities that come our way. I love being among the bustling crowds in December however I do not like to be IN them racing for that last gift. Read More

FALL Goals

This will be the first year our family has ever followed a school schedule. With Miss Charlie going into kindergarten, we lose out in the freedom to just go and do as we please. Remember, last fall we went on a Family Vacay to PEI while everyone else headed back to school. Since my Hubby works shift work and I all night shifts we have not ever followed much of a daily schedule as it is always changing day to day. School is a great way to get on schedule though and I have been thinking up lots of goals for my “new” year. Gretchen Rubin has often said on her podcast: “Happier” that September in a lot of ways is like January in that you are beginning a new year. Now that Miss Charlie is off to school, this really rang true to me this year. So hear are some goals I have for myself for our “new” year this Fall: Read More

Mother’s Day 2017

Is it just me or is Mother’s Day a super awkward holiday? Hear me out: I feel like I am being handed a gold medal before I hit the end of the race. I have always been excited to celebrate my own Mother on Mother’s Day but honestly it just doesn’t feel like a holiday for me. Partly because.. wait: what? I have kids, and believe it or not; that is still surprising to me. Also, it is because they are young and I am still forming them into the little people I would like them to be. I find myself thinking of the people who have lost Mothers or kids and just how hard this holiday can be like the women out there that don’t have children by choice or not. I can think of several that have given me a helping hand and totally deserve to be recognize on this holiday. It takes a village. I should note that I am often very awkward when receiving praise or gifts so it make sense that this would be an awkward holiday for me personally. Read More

A Hip Hop

I have been waiting and waiting to decorate for Easter and then it just kind of snuck up on me. It is now only two weeks away! I kept myself from buying anything new because I remembered packing Easter decor away last year so I must have all kinds right!? Wrong! I only had a couple of things when I went to get it all out yesterday but we made do. I will definitely be heading to Michael’s this week to pick up more! I also need to get fresh tulips because they just scream spring. (hint hint Jordan) Read More
